Intensive Course for Referees in Luanda — first edition in July 2025

1st Edition | July 14-16, 2025 | Edifício de Extensão da Universidade Católica, Michael Kennedy, Largo das Escolas, 1.º de Maio.

The Angolan Bar Association (O.A.A.), in partnership with the Commercial Arbitration Center (CAC), is honoured to announce the first edition in Luanda of the prestigious Intensive Arbitrators Course, to be held from July 14 to 16, 2025, at the Extension Building of the Catholic University of Angola.

This training is inspired by the successful previous editions held in other Lusophone countries, recognised for its academic rigour, practical utility, and real impact on empowering legal professionals in commercial arbitration.

In a context where arbitration is increasingly pivotal in resolving disputes in modern markets, this course aims to strengthen competencies and prepare a new generation of professionals to act as arbitrators or representatives in arbitration proceedings.

Course Objectives

  • Train and empower lawyers for the role of arbitrator;

  • Promote practical understanding of arbitration procedures, from conventions to issuing judgments;

  • Stimulate critical analysis and decision-making through the study of real cases and simulations.

What sets this training apart

  • Involvement of experienced arbitrators with solid national and international practice;

  • Simulations of arbitration hearings involving the construction and debate of real cases;

  • Intentionally small number of participants (30), ensuring personalised and intensive training;

  • An academic environment of excellence in the heart of the capital city.
