14th Coimbra International Arbitration Meeting

The Coimbra International Arbitration Meeting returns for its 14th edition on 19, 20 and 21 March 2026.

The initiative is organised by Paula Costa e Silva (Vice-President of the Commercial Arbitration Centre), Miguel de Almada, and Catarina Monteiro Pires, bringing together the national and international arbitration community at the Colégio da Trindade – Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra and Quinta das Lágrimas, in Coimbra.

The Commercial Arbitration Centre of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CAC) joins the 14th edition as a sponsor, reinforcing its commitment to promoting and developing arbitration, as well as enhancing the Lusophone arbitration community.

The programme includes the participation of members of the CAC Board and the CAC Mediation Commission, namely:

  • Joana Galvão Teles, member of the CAC Board, in the session “Ars Procedendo: drafting awards and drafting judgments — to each their own method”;
  • Pedro Metello de Nápoles, member of the CAC Board, in the session “Profession: Arbitrator!”;
  • Filipa Cansado de Carvalho, member of the CAC Mediation Commission, also in the session “Profession: Arbitrator!”.

Throughout the three days, key topics in arbitration practice will also be discussed, such as witness evidence, arbitrator impartiality, the 15th anniversary of the Portuguese Voluntary Arbitration Law, and different perspectives on arbitration agreements.

The Meeting also includes institutional social moments and networking opportunities among sector professionals.
