The VIII Lisbon Vis Pre-Moot will take place in Lisbon on 11, 12 and 13 March 2026, bringing together students and arbitration practitioners in one of the most important preparatory events for the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, one of the most prestigious international academic competitions in the field of commercial arbitration. The event will be held in person and will include general rounds, final rounds and networking opportunities for participants and professionals in the sector.
The initiative is jointly organised by the Under-40 Council of the Portuguese Arbitration Association (APA-40), Portugal Very Young Arbitration Practitioners (PT-VYAP) and the Portuguese Arbitration Moot Association (PAMA), organisations that have helped establish the Lisbon Pre-Moot as a meeting point between academia and arbitral practice, with growing international visibility. The 2026 edition is expected to bring together more than 20 teams from over 10 jurisdictions, as well as more than 100 participants.
The Commercial Arbitration Centre of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry joins this edition as co-sponsor of the event’s official dinner, reinforcing its commitment to training, the promotion of arbitration and support for the next generation of professionals in the field.
As part of the programme, Sofia Baptista, Secretary of Proceedings / Case Manager at the CAC, will also take part in the VIII Lisbon Vis Pre-Moot as an arbitrator in one of the competition rounds, contributing to the assessment of the teams and to the enrichment of the educational experience offered to participants.
