Applications for the 16th edition of the Postgraduate Programme in Negotiation, Mediation and Conflict Resolution are open until 21 October. The programme is organised by the Institute for Certification and Training of Lusophone Mediators (ICFML), in partnership with the Faculty of Law of Universidade Católica Portuguesa - Porto School.
This edition will run from November 2026 to June 2027, in person. The programme covers topics such as conflict mediation and the mediation process, negotiation and risk theory, communication techniques, Online Dispute Resolution, law applied to mediation, and public mediation systems. Classes will also include simulations and practical exercises. This programme is recognized by the Ministry of Justice of Portugal and internationally certified by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators — CIArb and the International Mediation Institute — IMI.
The Postgraduate Programme includes participation in the ICFML Bootcamp 2026, an intensive week of mediation training taking place from 2 to 7 November. This edition introduces a new module on Artificial Intelligence in mediation, addressing the use of these tools in case preparation and dialogue facilitation, with a focus on ethical and practical considerations.
The number of places is limited to 30 participants.
