II OAA-CAC Arbitration Congress in Angola

The Angolan Bar Association and the Commercial Arbitration Center will hold the II OAA-CAC Arbitration Congress in Angola on 31 July 2026, at the Palace of Justice, in Luanda. The Congress will be dedicated to the main current challenges of arbitration in Angola and in the Portuguese-speaking legal community.

Following the first edition, held in 2025, the Angolan Bar Association and the Centro de Arbitragem Comercial will once again bring together the legal and arbitration community in Luanda for the II OAA-CAC Arbitration Congress in Angola.

The Congress will take place on 31 July 2026, at the Palace of Justice, in Luanda, and will feature a programme dedicated to key topics in contemporary arbitration, with a particular focus on the Angolan context and international practices.

Over the course of a full day, four panels will be discussed:

  • The Angolan Arbitration Law: overview and prospects for reform
  • Evidence in arbitral proceedings: witness, expert and documentary evidence, different models and international practices
  • Interaction between arbitral tribunals and state courts before and after the arbitral award
  • Investment arbitration: the requirements for jurisdiction

The programme will also include contributions from national and international speakers. The closing session of the Congress will include the presentation of certificates of attendance for the 2nd Intensive Course for Arbitrators in Luanda.
