CAC will be represented at the NOVA School of Law at the "Administrative Arbitration Talks: Current Developments and Future Perspectives"

On September 22nd, 24th and 29th and October 1st 2026, the NOVA School of Law will host their “Administrative Arbitration Talks: Current Developments and Future Perspectives”. The initiative aims to foster reflection and discussion on some of the main challenges facing administrative arbitration today. In this year's edition, some members of the Commercial Arbitration Center (CAC) will be present.

On September 24th, Joana Galvão Teles, a member of the CAC Board, will speak at the session “A Critical Approach to Administrative Arbitration”. The panel will discuss the advantages and limitations of administrative arbitration, as well as issues relating to access to justice, transparency and effective judicial protection.

On October 1st, the session “Contracting and Litigating with the State” will take place, moderated by Gabriela Carvalho Steiner, Case Manager at the CAC, and featuring Mariana França Gouveia, President of the CAC Board. This session will focus on topics such as negotiating arbitration clauses, risk management in public contracts, litigation strategies, and the role of arbitration during the contract performance stage.
